Nautic recently hosted several groups at their Cape Town shipyard facilities where they were given a privileged glimpse into the inner workings of the world of shipbuilding.
A group of navy cadets, the SA Shipping Society and a group of learners from the Donato German School were all able to survey the progress on the latest builds being undertaken in the yard and get an understanding of the shipbuilding process.
They were impressed at the success of a local shipbuilder building for the local market and expressed enthusiasm at seeing how the latest designs, construction techniques and materials take form to create a new vessel.
“This is a place where industry becomes quite spectacular,” commented one of the learners from Donato.
“All groups were stunned by the pride displayed in being part of a close-knit team that puts quality first and works together to ensure that each new vessel meets or exceeds the highest standard of quality,” said Aaron van Rensberg of Nautic.
